Rolf Lengstrand

Swedish author of whom I know very little. He wrote a number of children's pony stories and also some pony non-fiction. Most of the titles were translated into English and published in the UK and/or America. Three were co-authored by Pierre Rolen. The books are all illustrated by photographs in the style of the classic Ponies of Bunts by M. M. Oliver and Eva Ducat.

Fia and Tiny Series:

1) THE LONG PONY RACE

SUMMARY: Fia is determined to earn enough money to buy back her beloved horse Tiny and compete in a long distance race.

2) THE LONG PONY TREK

First published in the USA by Knopf. As far as I know no British edition.
SUMMARY: Fia sets out with her friends on a long pony trek. She must leave Tiny behind at the vets, but begins to be plagued by fears that Tiny is in danger.

Collector's Info:
Both were translated from the original Swedish. Both were published in the USA, but only the first was published in the UK as far as I am aware. Both the books are fairly easy to find in the USA, the first can be found in the UK with a little effort, but the second is hard to find outside of America. I assume they can also be found in Sweden

Collector's Info:
Both translated into English from Swedish. Horse Astray was published in the USA and is fairly easy to find there. The Pony Club Through Smoke and Fire was published in the UK. It is quite hard to find.
